Unlike an ISO audit, there has never been "certification" of appraisals or their
results. Government and defense agencies and prime contractors have always had
to accept the maturity level claims of subcontractors and vendors on faith. Hope
was the strategy.
Not anymore. Natural SPI is the only provider to offer a rigorous, independent
audit that verifies an appraisal was performed in accordance with the SEI
requirements and methodologies that define appraisals. The Appraisal Verification
results in information that can be used to determine if a contractor/vendor’s
maturity level claim is provable, and whether or not the contractor’s expected
performance matches the maturity level. In other words, it gives the prospective
customers of organizational performance a level of confidence (or risk) indicator
in doing business with a subcontractor or vendor.
